Disciplinary and Grievance Hearings

A highly interactive and participative training session aimed at directors, managers and those within your business that deal with HR matters that may be required to follow a disciplinary or grievance procedure on behalf of the organisation in the future. This course will provide a foundation in the Acas Code of Practice on Disciplinary and Grievance Procedures to ensure that participants can professionally conduct a disciplinary or grievance hearing that meets legislative requirements


  • Definitions of misconduct and gross misconduct.
  • Scheduling a hearing.
  • The statutory right to accompaniment.
  • Format of a hearing.
  • Managing challenging behaviour.
  • Presenting disciplinary and grievance outcomes.
  • The right to appeal.

Delegates will have the opportunity to discuss case studies and scenarios, with plenty of opportunity for questions throughout.

By the end of the training session, delegates will be capable of carrying out straightforward disciplinary investigations and hearings independently.
